 IRDA Modules

The IRDA Certification for Insurance

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) was constituted by an Act of Parliament in 1999. IRDA is empowered to specify the qualifications, code of conduct and practical training for insurance intermediaries and agents.

IRDA regulations make it mandatory for those who seek to be appointed as insurance agents or intermediaries, a minimum specified number of hours of practical training from an approved institution followed by testing and certification. The modules covered are broadly divided into two categories: Life Insurance and General Insurance.
